RE: Stop Violence Against Women campaign

Just some info really...

In Bicester, Oxfordshire, UK (supposedly a nice pleasant communter town), official "Indices of Social Deprivation" figures show that domestic violence is 50% higher than in any other area of the country.

I find that figure extraordinary! (and rather worrying as I live here in Bicester).

Hi noxhanti,

Thanks for your comment, I'm glad you enjoyed taking part - would you mind telling us a bit about what you think went awry on the pledge? Cheers!

"...what could be done better next time?"

You could include transsexual women in your study.

The changes to domestic violence law being announced in the press regarding the listing of those known to have repeatedly committed domestic violence offences (= paedophiles) are an indication of how on-line campaigns can affect change.

The campaign was fun to do but somewhere along the line I must have made a mistake (?) and suspect the same happened to others so the pledge results are, I think, a bit skewed and don't reflect actual participation.
