RE: Stop Violence Against Women campaign

Just some info really…

In Bicester, Oxfordshire, UK (supposedly a nice pleasant communter town), official “Indices of Social Deprivation” figures show that domestic violence is 50% higher than in any other area of the country.

I find that figure extraordinary! (and rather worrying as I live here in Bicester).

The changes to domestic violence law being announced in the press regarding the listing of those known to have repeatedly committed domestic violence offences (= paedophiles) are an indication of how on-line campaigns can affect change.

The campaign was fun to do but somewhere along the line I must have made a mistake (?) and suspect the same happened to others so the pledge results are, I think, a bit skewed and don’t reflect actual participation.
